Governor Umar Namadi Pledges To Continue Collaborating With Nigerian Army To Ensure Peaceful and Stable Security In Jigawa State

The Executive Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi has reiterated the commitment of the Jigawa State Government to continue to collaborate with the Nigerian Army(NA) to ensure a peaceful and secured environment in the State. The Governor stated this today 3 October 2023 when the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division NA and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch Major General Valantine Okoro paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Dutse. In his words “we will continue to collaborate with NA to ensure a stable secured and peaceful atmosphere for social and economic activities to strives in the State”.

The Governor expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja for his sterling leadership of Nigerian Army and the numerous good work the NA is doing in the state and other part of the country. He thanked the GOC for finding time to visit the state despite his tight schedules and reassured him of the government and good people of Jigawa State cooperation at all time. He also commended the NA for the establishment and operationalization of 26 Armoured Brigade Dutse and thanked the Brigade Commander for his synergy with other security agencies in the state.

In his remarks during the visit, the GOC thanked the Governor and the good people of Jigawa State for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage. Gen Okoro commended the governor for the stable security environment in the state and notify the governor that the NA has commensed the construction of a Medical Resection Centre and other structures at the site.

While addressing officers and soldiers of Headquarters 26 Armoured Brigade at Yar Garba Barracks, the GOC commended the troops for their conduct regardless of the challenges they face following the establishment of the Brigade. He assured the troops that NA has the interest of the Brigade at heart and will provide all necessary facilities that will enable a conducive environment for them to carry out all task professionally. He charged them to be proactive and remain security conscious in order not to allow banditry, terrorism and criminal elements have hold of the state.The GOC further assured that the Nigerian Army will do it’s best to ensure that Jigawa State is not a hiding place for criminal elements.

Highlights of the events were brief by the Commander 26 Armoured Brigade, Intelligence brief, GOC’s address, visits to Emir of Dutse and the Executive Governor, exchange of souvenirs and group photograph.
