GUNMEN ASSASSINATE WOMAN WHILE GOING TO CHURCH IN AKOKO SOUTH-WEST LGA OF ONDO

Gunmen have killed a woman, identified as Mrs Omode in Iwaro Oka town, Akoko South-West LGA of Ondo State.

This is coming barely 48 hours after gunmen abducted a Principal, Joshua Adeyemi, his Vice, lfedayo Yesufu, and three other teachers along Auga-Ise road in Akoko North East council area of Ondo state.

The assassination occurred around 5.30am on Sunday November 28.

The deceased, who was said to be a cleaner at the Deeper Life Bible Church in the community, was found dead. 

She was said to have been murdered on Sunday morning while going to the church to perform her duty.

Sources say the lifeless body of the deceased was found on the ground with a mark and blood on her neck, which indicated that her throat was slit by the killers.

There has been a surge in insecurity in Ondo State in recent weeks. Last week Tuesday, Gunmen kidnapped the Eze Ndigbo of Ifon with the assailants also robbing him of his money.

Recall, two weeks ago, three butchers were kidnapped at Akure North LGA of the State with their corpses recovered from a forest three days after.

On November 5, Amotekun operatives arrested a kidnap-syndicate in Ondo and recovered over 500 pieces of dagger alongside other ammunition from the gunmen.
