Gunmen on Monday attacked an army checkpoint along Ukwuorji Owerri road.
The attack is the latest in a series of unprovoked attacks on security operatives in the Southern part of the country.
The incident occurred hours after hoodlums attacked the police headquarters in Owerri and freed inmates in the correctional facility.
