Handing and Taking Over Ceremony Of Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command

On Tuesday 22 Oct 24, Western Naval Command witnessed the handing and taking over ceremony between the outgoing and Incoming Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command Rear Admiral MB Hassan and Rear Admiral MG Oamen.

Rear Admiral MB Hassan assumed office on 11 Oct 2023 as the 44th Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command. The farewell parade held in his honour was graced by very senior officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces in Lagos area, para-military agencies, Heads of Federal Government parastatals, captains of industries as well as retired senior officers. The Outgoing Flag Officer Commanding urged the officers of the Command to show the incoming Flag Officer Commanding the same support they showed him.

In his remarks, the incoming Flag Officer Commanding, Rear Admiral Mike Oamen charged the PSOs of the Command, Commanders and Commanding Officers of Ships & units to sustain the high momentum of the fight against crude oil theft and other maritime crimes.
