Herdsmen Raid Adamawa Village, Kill 18

Suspected herdsmen killed no fewer than 18 persons during an attack on Dowayan village in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The late night raid also resulted in severe injuries to many others, Channelstv reports.

Several houses were also burnt and property destroyed in the attack which left helpless residents scampering for safety in the dead of the night.

Numan, Demsa and Girei Local Governments Areas in Adamawa State have previously been attacked by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

The attack comes bare days after herdsmen killed no fewer than 15 persons in a similarly vicious raid in villages in Plateau State.

Friday night’s attack on Demsa has yet to be confirmed by the Adamawa State Police Command, as the Public Relations Officer, Othman Abubakar, said he had no official information yet.
