Hyacinth Idibia Denied Entry Into United States Where He Lives

Hyacinth Idibia, the younger brother of singing legend 2baba Idibia, claims he has been denied entry into the United States where he lives.

The singer, who is known by his stage name H-i Idibia, revealed this disturbing detail on Facebook last night, adding that he is currently stranded. “I’ve just been denied entry into the United States #frustrated #stranded,” Idibia said.

This seems to corroborate claims by other Nigerians who reported how they were unfairly treated by U.S. officials at different ports of entry, like Femi Olaniyi, a real estate businessman, who was reportedly arrested and detained for 4 days at the Los Angeles Airport, before he was sent back home.

Also, Idibia’s experience appears to contradict the Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama’s claims that Nigerians aren’t being turned back at U.S. airports in his counter to a statement put out by the senior special assistant to the president on the diaspora, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who advised Nigerians to shelve all travel plans to the U.S. if the reasons aren’t compelling.

It is unclear if Hyacinth Idibia has returned to Nigeria since he made that post at 7.42pm last night.
