Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim As Minister, A Round Peg in a Round Hole By Rebecca Okoh
Honourable Imaan Ibrahim Sulaiman is a woman of many parts and those who have encountered her or have engaged her in one way or the other cannot but notice that her mien and comportment reflects who she is inside.
A brilliant, independent, kind and compassionate young woman who at the age of 21 had bagged double masters degrees and a woman whose quest for self development and an innate desire to assist people irrespective of their social status or class is unequalled.
During her days as DG of NAPTIP and as Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Hon Imaan is a sterling example of industry, due process and one who believes in team work. She takes every national assignment given her so seriously and often time, exceed expectations.
I remember vividly how she managed to ensure the convergence of APC Women from the 36 states and the FCT for a women conference which was the first of it’s kind in the history of political parties in this country.
As the chairperson in charge of logistics, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, weathered all the storms and ensured she catered for all the delegates in their thousands.
I also remembered the parts she played actively during the primary elections that produced the incumbent President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Unknown to many, she worked alongside the women leader, Hon Betta Edu travelling from cities to cities, state to states across the country wooing women and youths, appealing to them to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Even after the rigorous effort put in before the primaries, what she and her team did campaigning for the President were unimaginable. Resources were pulled together, souvenirs of all sorts were produced and food and other non food items were distributed to women in the FCT, Sokoto, Kano, Bauchi, Adamawa, Kebbi, Katsina and many other states across the country.
Despite been a woman of few words, Sulaiman-Ibrahim is deep, soft spoken with an influencing spirit. No matter how much you hate her, once she speaks, she melts you with her superior arguments and dignifies you with soothing words like a canvasser and a marketer that she is.
Hon Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim is a strategist, a thinker and a woman with heart of gold. She is a patriotic Nigerian and a reformer. She thinks out of the box all the time, and considers different perspectives to issues.
In her home state Nasarawa, Hon Imaan is a mobiliser. She builds and sustain relationships. She mixes up easily with the less privileged and empowers them in her little ways.
She respects everyone both young and old. Her endearing qualities are numerous and she does not discriminate against anyone be it Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba . She is a pan africanist. That’s why you find all.sorts of people from different states and region working closely with her. As long as you understand her assignments and you are willing to learn and deliver, Hon Imaan will be comfortable with you. She does not endorse indolence but rewards hardwork and loyalty.
43 year old Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim is a bridge builder and such personality is what the Federal Executive Council under President Tinubu need. It will be a gathering of young and purposeful leaders who will transform their ministries and help amplify the renewed hope agenda of Mr President.
Whatever ministry she is assigned to, Nigerians are assured of competence, best service delivery, humanity, people oriented programmed and policies and most importantly, her performance will boost the rating of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Women and youths will be favoured as well because she will work with the First Lady , Senator Oluremi Tinubu in bringing succour to Nigerian women.
History will be kind to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for rewarding loyalty, hard work and patriotism in the choice of Honourable Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim. She is a gift to the Nigerian people and to the All Progressives Congress APC.
