In Defiance To President Tinubu, Ministers Refuse To Inaugurate Boards 30 Days After Board Appointments
Some ministers in connivance with some heads of parastatals and agencies have refused to inaugurate various Boards as they want to continue to operate and take decisions without any oversight and feedbacks to the various Chairmen and Board Members.
Several of the Managing Directors object against inauguration of Boards in their agencies. This action has triggered Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) whom have began to covertly investigate the activities of these agencies.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) have also began to investigate petitions on graft and corruption received on some of these agencies that have not been abiding by their acts and regulations due to the lack of any sort of oversight on their activities.
Several Ministries, Departments and Agencies have received letters of enquiries or invitations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission., EFCC.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC says they do not comment on matters of investigation that are yet to be concluded and states that if necessary, there are always press releases and regular updates on the activities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation is said to have been briefed about this situation and has directed all Ministries Departments and Agencies, MDAs to act accordingly and cooperate with investigating agencies for transparency.
