

Infantry Corps Holds Maiden Monthly Study Period
Headquarters Infantry Corps Centre (HQ ICC) held the maiden edition of the monthly study period for officers and men of the Corps on Tuesday 14 January, 2025 at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry Auditorium.
The monthly study period is the initiative of the Commander Infantry Corps (CIC), Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim aimed at enhancing professionalism and to inculcate leadership culture into officers and soldiers of the Infantry Corps.
This month’s lecture is titled – Regimentation in the Nigerian Army and delivered by the Staff Officer Grade 1, Training Lt Col A Audu.
In his remarks, the CIC said Regimentation entailed doing things in a standard and formal way. He enjoined the participants to reflect on the lecture and further research on the Regimentation in the Nigerian Army.
Major General Ibrahim admonished students’ officers on course at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) to put their careers on tracks by doing very well in their various courses, advising them to remain disciplined and imbibe the core values of Infantry in all their endeavours.
The CIC used the occasion to commend the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede for upgrading the infrastructural facilities of the Jaji Military Cantonment. Major General Ibrahim disclosed that the 17 blocks of accommodations containing 10 flats each started by the COAS would be commissioned in the next two weeks. He stated that the foundation of another 13 blocks of 10 Flats each had been laid and the project is expected to be completed soon.
The monthly study period for this month was graced by the Commandant NASI Major General Oluyemi Olatoye, Chief of Staff HQ ICC, Deputy Commandant NASI and Staff Officers of both the HQ ICC and NASI.
Highlights of the event were presentations, interactive sessions, presentation of souvenirs and taking of the group photograph.
