Infrastructure: There must be consequences for violating maintenance – Minister

The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has revealed that in the bid to achieve Nigeria’s goal of maintaining public infrastructure, there is a need to adopt strict codes against violating compliance.

The Minister disclosed this in a social media statement at the virtual World Facilities Management Day 2021 Policy Dialogue, with some members of the private sector.

“I stated that in Nigeria and all of Africa, we must learn to maintain public infrastructure, and there must be consequences for violations,” he said.

“You can’t separate maintenance from organisation, law and order. There must be consequences when things fail,” he added.
