Iyanya Quits Tripple MG, Signs On To New Record Label
Yesterday, Iyanya took to Instagram to announce that he is no longer under Ubi Franklin’s management, Tripple MG despite claims by the duo that they are cool.
“Dear Fans, I am pleased to announce that i have signed on with Temple Management Company,” the singer wrote yesterday, adding, “About a year ago, Ubi and I discussed options to diversify our business interests and creative visions and we both agreed that we would explore all avenues open to us.”
Recall that rumours of discord between them made the rounds on social media days ago after Iyanya announced that he will be floating a new record label. While Iyanya attempted to shut it down, calling the rumours ‘lies’, adding that Ubi’s wife, Lilian Esoro, was a good cook, his partner claimed they were cool.
However, one wonders why he fired Ubi as his manager since he could still maintain the management relationship, like the agreement Lil Kesh has with Olamide’s YBNL.
“With both @thetemplecompany, and the new album, I am now embarking in a new direction which will not only bring you the same quality, verve and energy that you have become accustomed to, it will take things to the next level,” Iyanya says now, adding that Ubi will only now remain his ‘brother’.
Ubi also replied with a ‘Congratulations my brother forever.’
