Jay Z has reacted to the controversial comment made by the owner of Houston Texans, Bob McNair, who recently set the country aflame with his shocking analogy of the NFL.

Speaking at a recent meeting about the ongoing NFL protests initiated by Colin Kaepernick which has seen players kneeling during the national anthem, McNair, who is a Trump supporter and campaign contributor, said of the protesters: “We can’t have the inmates running the prison.”

His inflammatory comment set the nation on fire, and he later returned to apologise for the comment, saying he meant no harm.

But people aren’t buying it especially because the NFL players are largely blacks. Among the voices speaking up is rapper Jay Z, who, at the first day of his 4:44 Tour in Anaheim, California, took time to address McNair’s statement about the players and its implication.

[They’re] injuring themselves on the field, giving it all they got,” he said. “That’s how they look at you. That’s what they think about you. We got so much further to go. The truth is we all believe in whatever you believe in. God, Allah. Whatever you believe in, we come from one source which means we are all brothers and sisters at the end of the day.”

Following the outrage, McNair has issued a second apology but people aren’t buying it. There are fears that his players will walk away from their scheduled Sunday match. Now, we can’t wait to see how that pans out.
