Jewels Leading Light International School Visits Nigerian Army Resource Centre

The Staff and students of Jewels Leading Lights International School Abuja paid a visit to the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC) on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, where they were received at Hall F, ML Algwai Block, by the Executive Director, NARC Consult, Major General AOD Okoro, on behalf of the Director General.

Stating the purpose of their visit, the Team Leader, Mr Emmanuel Abbah, expressed sincere appreciation to the Director General, who was ably represented by Major General AOD Okoro, for granting the students and staff the opportunity to visit the Centre. He explained that the tour was designed to broaden the students’ understanding of national identity, military heritage, and the Nigerian Army’s contributions to national development, peace, and security.

Responding, the Executive Director, Consult, Major General AOD Okoro, expressed delight at the visit and further stated that NARC remains committed to supporting educational institutions in promoting national values, civic responsibility, and a deeper appreciation of the Armed Forces. He provided an insightful overview of the Centre’s mandate as the think tank of the Nigerian Army, highlighting its core functions in research, strategic studies, policy development, and knowledge dissemination.

He also elaborated on the Centre’s Board of Trustees, vision and mission statements, core values, focus areas, organisational structure and its strategic relevance to national security.

Major General Okoro concluded with a motivational message, urging the students to pursue excellence, embrace discipline, develop leadership qualities and contribute positively to society.

Afterwards, the students and staff were conducted on a guided tour of the Nigerian Army Museum, where they explored historical relics, military artifacts, archival materials and curated displays showcasing the evolution, achievements, and operational history of the Nigerian Army.

Other highlights of the visit included the presentation of a souvenir, signing of the visitors’ book, and a group photograph with the staff and students.
