Jidenna Cut Off From Performing at One Africa Festival Due to ‘African Time’
Jidenna has taken to his Instagram to apologise to fans who attended the One Africa Festival in London because of him but couldn’t watch him perform.
Apparently, the singer could not go on stage even though he was at the arena, and this was because time had run out; the event was not started on time. In his post, the Nigerian singer refuses to point fingers or blame anyone for the poor time management that denied him the opportunity to perform at the sold-out concert, rather he encouraged Africans to learn to work with time.
“I was supposed to perform 2night but the show was cut off as I waited backstage. I’m disappointed that London wasn’t able to see me 2night. Regardless of whose to blame, to make this our time we must be on time,” he captioned his video post.
“If we truly believe it is one time as Africans, then we have to be on time, especially in a city we have Big Ben overlooking it. We have to be on time, on our dial, on our clock.”
Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London. It overlooks the concert venue.
