Kabowei Kingdom Celebrates Nigerian Army, As COAS Commissions Landmark Projects
The ancient Kabowei kingdom, which extends from Delta to Bayelsa states have rolled out drums to celebrate the Nigerian Army(NA) for inaugurating a landmark project in their community. The Pere of Kabowei Kingdom, His Royal Majesty(HRM), Barrister Peremobowei Shedrack Erebulu, the Adoo III, while expressing appreciating to the NA has declared that this is the first time such a project is sited in his kingdom.
He made this known when the Chief of Army Staff(COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, inaugurated a multi-purpose hall and borehole in Tawari, Patani Local Government Area of Delta State. The COAS was represented by the General Officer Commanding 6 Division/ Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE, Major General Jamal Abdussalam.
King Erebulu eulogized a worthy son of Kabowei Kingdom, Major General Preye Fakrogha, for his exemplary service to the NA and fatherland. He reiterated that the entire kingdom is proud of him, having served the NA meriteriously for 35 years and, in the end, attracted the magnificent edifice to his community.
The COAS, while inaugurating the project, stated that the “NA belongs to Nigerians, together as a people we should confront the security challenges facing our dear nation.” He further reiterated that the NA has in recent times embarked on elaborate quick impact projects in several communities. The projects are to compliment the already existing basic services. Hence, the COAS special intervention Civil-Milirary Cooperation Project was extended to Tawari village.
The initiator of the project, Major General Preye Fakrogha(rtd), stated that he decided to site the project in his hometown in fulfillment of his desire to give back to his community. He used the medium to encourage sons and daughters of the kingdom to key into this initiative, stressing that they have a collective responsibility to develop the kingdom.
Projects inaugurated include a borehole as well as an ultra modern multi-purpose hall named after the initiators late wife, Pastor Mrs Tersoo Preye Fakrogha.
The major highlights of the event were homage by the GOC and his entourage to the Pere of Kabowei at his Palace, the Ngusei cultural dance entertainment, presentation of gift items, and souvenirs
The historic event was attended by the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Nigerian Army, Major General Nosa Ugbo, Commanders of 16 and 63 Brigades among other Service commanders. Council chiefs of Kabowei kingdom, local government officials, and well-wishers also attended the event.
