Kanye West and Jay Z’s Tidal is currently facing a class action lawsuit spearheaded by an irritated fan, Justin Baker-Rhett, who said he was deceived into registering for Tidal (which had exclusive rights to Ye’s TLOP album as at that time), only for the album to get released on Spotify, Apple and other platforms.

Recall that when TLOP dropped on Tidal, Ye took to Twitter to rant about how the hot album will never be released on Apple, that it will only remain on Tidal. This prompted some 2 million fans to register for the $9.99 service, earning Jay Z about $84m.

My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale… You can only get it on Tidal.

But days later, the album was made available on other platforms, like Apple and Spotify; the same platforms Ye’s fans were already on. And so, according to TMZ, the irritated fan says he and other fans were tricked into rescuing the floundering Tidal.

Baker-Rhett is suing for damages.

Kanye West is yet to react to this.
