Katsina Assembly Members Endorse Gov Radda For Second Term

Members of the Katsina State House of Assembly, on Saturday, formally endorsed Governor Dikko Radda for a second term in office under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This endorsement, which marks a significant political boost for Governor Radda as the 2027 election cycle draws near, is coming barely 24 hours after members of the National Assembly from the state, led by Sada Soli Jibia, member representing Jibia and Kaita Federal Constituency, did the same.

The endorsement was announced during a press briefing held at the Assembly’s Press Centre, where the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Nasiru Yahaya, who represents the Daura Constituency, spoke on behalf of his colleagues.

“Today, we stand before you with great pride and unity of purpose.
I am honored to announce that the 34 Honourable Members of the Katsina State House of Assembly, after extensive deliberations and consultations, have unanimously resolved to endorse His Excellency, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, for a second term in office,” the lawmaker said.

He explained that the decision to back the governor was in recognition of the collective assessment of his performance and the overwhelming support expressed by their constituents across the state.

Daura, while praising Governor Radda’s purposeful and inclusive leadership style, announced that his administration had made significant progress in tackling insecurity, implementing education reforms, boosting agriculture, developing enterprises, and engaging communities, among others.

He said these efforts have set the state on the right path towards sustainable development and prosperity.

The lawmakers further pledged total support, loyalty, and unwavering support to the governor’s re-election bid, calling on all well-meaning sons and daughters of the State to unite behind the movement for continuity and progress.

They also resolved to purchase his nomination form for him as a testament to their full support.

“Furthermore, we have resolved to purchase his nomination form when the time comes in 2027 as a testament to our full support,” the lawmakers said.

“This decision was not taken lightly. It is a product of careful assessment, grassroots feedback, and our collective belief in Governor Radda’s leadership.”
