Kevin Spacey Apologizes After Being Accused of Paedophilia
It’s another day and Hollywood is being rocked mercilessly by a sexual assault scandal, this time it is House of Cards actor Kevin Spacey who has been called out.
Drama started hours ago when actor Anthony Rapp came forward with his story of how Spacey sexually assaulted him when he was only 14 years old. And this quickly prompted an apology and a ‘coming out’ from Spacey.
Writing on his Twitter, the Star Trek actor Rapp recalled how the legendary actor Spacey assaulted him during a party 31 years ago, when the two were both working together on Broadway. At the time, Spacey was 26 years old.
Rapp said the assault happened at Spacey’s apartment, that the older actor picked him up, put him on the bed and climbed on top of him, in an attempt to seduce him.
“I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually,” he told Buzzfeed. “My stomach churns. I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it. It’s just deeply confusing to me.”
Rapp’s accusation comes after shocking stories of sexual assault in the industry, starting from Harvey Weinstein who reportedly has assaulted/raped at least 51 women, mostly actresses.
Rapp said he spoke up not “to simply air a grievance”, but he wishes to shine light on this behavior that has been allowed. “I’m feeling really awake to the moment that we’re living in, and I’m hopeful that this can make a difference,” he said.
Shortly after his interview went viral, Spacey took to Twitter to say he was ‘horrified’ by the accusation, however he apologises for his actions. Shifting away from the story, he chirped in about his sexuality, saying he now lives as a gay man.
“As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women,” he said. “I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose to live as a gay man.”

Many people think this is an attempt at deflection, to take attention away from his crime against Anthony Rapp. See Rapp’s reactions to Spacey’s confession:
to shine a light and hopefully make a difference, as they have done for me. 2/3
