Lady Gaga Ends Feud With Kanye West, Supports him after hospitalization

Lady Gaga is taking a public stance against Kanye West’s detractors.

Following a recent wave of erratic behavior – including his self-professed support for Donald Trump, the cancellation of his Saint Pablo Tour, and on-stage comments against Beyoncé, Jay Z, and Hillary Clinton – West, 39, reportedly checked himself into a hospital on Monday afternoon, seeking treatment for exhaustion.

Lady Gaga took to Twitter on Wednesday to show her support for her former collaborator as the internet continues to speculate about his mental health.

“It’s not funny to joke about anyone’s possible or not possible mental illness, this is a sensitive time for many. Let’s be kind & loving,” the Joanne singer wrote. “While I don’t agree with everything he does I hope the public shows compassion and [love] for @kanyewest and each other. One love. One Race.”

In November 2009, the duo were set to embark on a 34-date co-headlining tour called Fame Kills: Starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga, with the “Million Reasons” singer once promising a “groundbreaking” event they worked on as “creative kindreds,” though the joint venture was reportedly nixed so West could “take some time off” after enduring an onslaught of negative press for interrupting Taylor Swift’s MTV VMAs speech earlier that year. The “Famous” hitmaker later claimed Gaga was solely responsible for the tour’s cancellation, but the pop icon seems to be putting the past behind her in the wake of West’s current struggles.

“I support & love u brother, I see in you bravery & courage to stop this tour & take care of YOU,” Gaga tweeted directly at West’s handle on the social media site. “You are a GREAT artist.”

Other music industry figures have sent well wishes to West in recent days as well, with Chance the Rapper extending a “special prayer” to his “Waves” co-writer during a Tuesday appearance on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

“I want to extend a special prayer to my big brother Kanye West,” he said. “I know there’s a lot of weird folks out there but you already know that I’m a hundred grand. I want to just extend this prayer and this love from all the way in Britain. We might come home early to see this. Happy Thanksgiving.”
