Lupita Nyong’o Criticised for Being ‘Less Enthusiastic’ During Interview in Kenya
Lupita Nyong’o is currently being criticised by Kenyans for her interview with journalist, Larry Madowo.
According to some quarters, the 12 Years a Slave actress seemed less enthusiastic, not showing the same unrestrained eagerness she exudes in interviews with western media.
The actress appeared on NTV’s The Trend show with Madowo, accompanied by two members of the cast, to speak about her latest movie, Queen of Katwe. The discussion covered her interest in projects set on the continent, her latest Vogue feature and the rap clip she shared on her Instagram.
“I also felt like she had an attitude. When I look at her interviews in the US, she is usually very excited, smiling but locally she is usually very dull,” one upset Kenyan, Mwadime Sanguli, told Kenyans.co.ke.
Another, Hakeem Demba Ba, added, “I agree our so called local celebrities should know better. It’s because of the fans that they are where they are this should make them humble.”
Are they making wrong accusations?

Haba! There’s nothing wrong with lupita in both interviews. The interviews have different settings and stage audience effects and she handled them well.
