Lupita Nyong’o sure knows how to throw a party.
Yesterday, the Oscar Award winning actress and Kenyan activist celebrated her 34th birthday with close friends, all of them dressed up as their favourite character from the epic film Coming to America.
Dressed as a lady-in-waiting, Lupita struck all the right tones as the dramatic character, her amazing costume complete with a wig.
Some of the stars who attended the private affair includes her best friend Danai Gurira (who was dressed as the betrothed bride of Prince Akeem) and Chadwick Boseman.
This brings to mind when Beyonce and her family celebrated Halloween as Coming to America characters. While Jay Z was dressed like Prince Akeem and Beyonce took a cue from Queen Aoleon, their daughter Blue Ivy stole the night as Imani Izii’s character.
But now, Lupita Nyong’o and her friends may have won as they perfectly portrayed the characters from the epic movie.
