Magu Charges Staff in Maiduguri on Discipline, Insecurity
The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has charged staff of the EFCC Maiduguri Zonal Office, to take the issue of discipline serious, and ensure that they shun compromise in the discharge of their duties.
“You should endeavor not to compromise the achievements recorded so far by the EFCC,” he said, noting that he was worried about the issue of indiscipline among staff.
Magu gave the charge on March 8 and 9, 2020 while on a working visit to the Maiduguri zonal office of the EFCC.
He further urged all staff to be disciplined and to abide by the ethics of the EFCC.
Speaking on the activities of non-governmental organizations, NGOs in the Borno State, Magu stressed the need of the EFCC to beam a searchlight on them.
He said: “The EFCC is monitoring the financial activities of all NGOs through the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML).
“As such, the EFCC can help in mitigating the insecurity situation in the northeast.”
He also used the opportunity to charge staff to be safety conscious as regards their health, and to put in place preventive measures aimed at curtailing the spread of Covid-19 popularly known as coronavirus.in order to achieving its mandate.
