Major General Alabi Assumes Command As The 41st General Officer Commanding 1 Division

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation WHIRL PUNCH Maj Gen BA Alabi has assumed command on Monday 3 July 2023, as the 41st General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army.

In his maiden remarks, Maj Gen Alabi thanked the almighty God and the Chief of Army Staff for his appointment as the GOC 1 Division and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch. He also appreciated formation commanders and all principal staff officers of the Division for their immense contribution towards the successes so far achieved by the Division. In his words ” 1 Division is the premier Division of the Nigerian Army, we are one and we must always be ahead”. He said as he tasked all officers and soldiers of the Division to redoubled their efforts so as to end the current security challenges bedeviling the Division’s Area of Responsibility.

Highpoint of the events were signing of handing and taking over notes, decoration of the new GOC with 1 Division insignia, hoisting off a new Division’s flag at quarter guard to signal the commencement of a new era in the Division and a group photograph.
