Major General OC Ajunwa Pays Operational Visit To 23 Brigade and Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai

In a bid to boost morale and assess operational readiness, the Commander Nigerian Army Armoured Corps NAAC) Major General Obinna Ajunwa has embarked on a 3-day operational visit to 23 Brigade (Bde) and Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) Area of Responsibility.

During his visit to 23 Brigade AOR on Tuesday 9 September 2025, Major General OC Ajunwa charged troops of 23 Bde to carry out their assigned duties and responsibilities religiously. He emphasized the need for diligence and dedication in the execution of their tasks, highlighting that their efforts would not only enhance operational effectiveness but also contribute to the overall security and stability of the region.

The Corps Commander acknowledged the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede NAM welfare initiatives particularly the “Soldier First” philosophy. He noted that the COAS commitment to the welfare of troops, as evident in the introduction of various welfare schemes like the improved housing, 100% increment of feeding allowance, upgrade in healthcare facilities, provision of uniforms to troops and other benefits, are testaments of the COAS dedication to the well-being of personnel. He therefore charged them to live to expectation as “to whom much is given, much is expected”. He added.

At HQ Sector 4 OPHK in Mubi on Wednesday 10 September 2025, General Ajunwa encouraged the troops of 232 Battalion, 271 Task Force Tank Battalion Michika as well as 23 Brigade Special Battalion Minus Maiha to take pride in their work and strive for excellence, knowing that their efforts are valued and appreciated. He assured them that their welfare and interests remain a top priority for the COAS and the entire Nigerian Army leadership.

Additionally, General Ajunwa urged the troops to be up and doing, as additional responsibility had been placed on them with the operationalization of Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai. He emphasized that more military gains are expected of them, and their performance would be crucial in achieving operational objectives.

The highpoint of the visit was the address of troops by the Corps Commander, briefs by the Commander Sector 4 OPHK/23 Bde, 23 Bde Garrison Commander and Commanding Officers of concerned battalions as well as exchange of souvenirs, tour of Mubi barracks to assess deployment of troops and group photograph.
