Major General Saraso Visits 26 Armour Brigade, Urges Troops To Leave A Lasting Legacy

As part of efforts to enhance operational effectiveness and assess troop activities, Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force North West Operation Fasan Yamma, visited the 26 Armour Brigade on February 15, 2024, at Yar’gaba Barracks in Dutse, Jigawa State.

During his address, Major General Saraso commended the officers and soldiers for their hard work in maintaining peace and security in the state and its environs. He charged them to leave a lasting legacy in the brigade, ensuring the state remains free from criminal hideouts. General Saraso acknowledged the troops’ sacrifices amidst challenges and emphasized the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy, which prioritizes soldiers’ welfare and well-being.

The GOC encouraged the troops to themselves to their duties, assuring them that hard work will always be rewarded. Earlier, Brigadier General Timinere Joseph Mackintosh, Commander 26 Armour Brigade, briefed the GOC on the brigade’s activities and requested further intervention in the barracks.

The visit’s highlights included the commissioning of the brigade’s signage and borehole, constructed by Brigadier General Mackintosh, as well as a tour of the barracks, presentation of souvenirs, and group photographs.
