
MD/CEO, Naval Engineering Services Limited Visits The Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers
The Commander Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (CCEME), Major General Adeyinka Ayodeji Adereti, on Thursday 12 February 2026, hosted the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Naval Engineering Services Limited (NESL), Rear Admiral Umaru Usman Faruk, on a familiarization visit to Headquarters NAEME. The visit was aimed at strengthening professional collaboration and enhancing inter-service engineering cooperation.
In his remarks, the MD/CEO NESL expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded to him and his delegation. He underscored the strategic importance of partnership between NESL and NAEME, particularly in the areas of equipment maintenance, technical support and specialized engineering services. He further emphasized the need for structured knowledge sharing and sustained engagement to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery across the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Responding, the CCEME warmly welcomed the MD/CEO and described the visit as a significant step towards deepening professional ties between both organizations. He reaffirmed NAEME’s commitment to joint initiatives and continuous collaboration between the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy engineering establishments. The CCEME noted that NAEME personnel had previously undergone artificer training at the Nigerian Navy Engineering College, Sapele, highlighting the longstanding relationship between both services.
Speaking on potential areas of collaboration, the CCEME identified the NAEME Corps Boat Maintenance Base, Calabar and 1 Base Workshop, Yaba, as viable starting points for enhanced partnership with NESL.He stated that 1 Base Workshop, Yaba, possesses the requisite capacity to collaborate with NESL in reactivating selected equipment within the Workshop. He noted that such collaboration, if actualized, would significantly enhance third-line equipment support to the Armed Forces while also contributing to broader national development efforts. He concluded by assuring NESL of NAEME’s readiness to work closely towards achieving shared objectives and mutual success.
The visit was attended by senior staff officers from both Headquarters NAEME and NESL. Highlights included the inspection of the Quarter Guard, signing of the Visitors’ Book, exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph.
