Members of the proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) otherwise known as Shiites are planning a Nationwide Protest today.
Intelligence gathered that the protest was planned because of the health challenges of the Shiites leader, Sheik Ibrahim El Zakzaki.
However, individuals have a right to hold peaceful protests or processions, but it’s instructive to note that the fragile security situation in Plateau is currently not conducive for such activities.
According to intelligence reports, there are plans by hoodlums and miscreants to hijack the protest and cause mayhem in Jos Metropolis and its environs.
The Nigerian Troops have warned IMN to shelve their planned protest in the state, because the Commander has ordered troops to ensure that the planned protest by members of IMN or any other group does not take place in Plateau until full security is guaranteed.
