
Military Secretary (Army) Hosts Career Sensitization Lecture for Officers in 1 Division
The Military Secretary (Army), Major General Everest Ifeanyi Okoro, delivered a career sensitization lecture for officers under the 1 Division Nigerian Army at Major General TA Lagbaja Hall, Ribadu Cantonment, Kaduna.
The session was organized to enhance career development, professionalism, and leadership capacity within the Nigerian Army, ensuring officers are well-guided in their career progression through effective management of postings, promotions, courses, and other entitlements.
The General Officer Commanding 1 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed Wase, welcomed the Military Secretary and participants, emphasizing that the lecture was a strategic initiative rather than a routine event. He noted that operational excellence must be matched with structured career management, which sustains morale, discipline, and professional growth.
He highlighted the importance of understanding one’s career trajectory, urging officers to take personal responsibility for their professional advancement by engaging in continuous learning, maintaining discipline, and striving for excellence.
The event reflected the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy, which is “To advance the transformation of the Nigerian Army into a more professional, adaptable, combat ready and resilient force capable of decisively discharging its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency environment”.
Officers from various formations, units and establishments within the Division’s Area of Responsibility attended in large numbers. Highlights included presentation of souvenirs, signing of the visitors’ book, and group photographs.
