MLAILPKC Commandant Decorates Newly Promoted Officers, Urges Them To Embrace Higher Responsibilities

The Commandant Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre (MLAILPKC), Major General Ademola Adedoja has decorated five newly promoted officers of the Centre with their new ranks. The investiture ceremony, held today at the Maimalari Hall of the Centre in Jaji Military Cantonment, marked the elevation of the officers from the rank of Captains to Majors, as the Commandant charged them to be ready to embrace the responsibilities that comes with promotion.

Those decorated included, Major IB Usman, Major AO Oyewole, Major A Esegine, Major MY Metcho and Major BL Magaji, all who benefited from the Captain to Major Promotion released by the Nigerian Army recently.

In his remarks, Major General Adedoja, described the occasion as unprecedented and fulfilling moment for the Centre, stressing that the promotion is a well-deserved achievement in the careers of the officers and to their families. The Commandant eulogized the officers for their effectiveness and dedication to duties, highlighting their contributions to the successful conduct of trainings and other activities in the Centre. He said promotion is a recognition of hard work and selfless service.

“This promotion is a significant achievement not only for you but also for your families who have stood by you. By my assessment, you truly deserve it,” “However, you must remember that to whom much is given, much is expected. This new rank requires you to embrace fresh challenges and demonstrate greater leadership responsibility.” the Commandant said.

Speaking further, Major General Adedoja expressed gratitude to the Chief of Army (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, for extending the promotion privilege to officers of the Centre, noting that it is a reflected confidence in their capabilities. He equally commended the families of the newly promoted senior officers, particularly for their unwavering support and constant prayers, which he said has shown in the professional conduct and performance of the officers and contributed greatly to their successes.

The ceremony was well attended by Senior Officers, officers and soldiers serving within and outside the Jail Military Cantonment as well as families of the newly promoted senior officers.
