Musicians React to President Trump’s Executive Order on Refugees, Immigration
Musicians are reacting to President Donald Trump’s executive order Friday (Jan. 27) to ban citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States in the coming months.
President Trump says the ban is necessary to prevent “radical Islamic terrorists” from entering the nation, the Associated Press reports. Musical artists, however, strongly disagree with the new president’s latest controversial executive order.
Musician and activist Chuck D expressed his displeasure over the news on social media. “Expect artists to be banned & jailed by 2020 in the USA,” he he tweeted. “im clear on this.”
See reactions from Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus, Josh Groban, Nancy Sinatra, Best Coast, and Tegan and Sara, among others, in the tweets below.
I try to keep my politics off of twitter, but the ban on refugees is disgraceful. Please refer to the Statue of Liberty. I love you all.

To those in gov towing the line for a president you know is wrong: ask yourself "at what cost?". This isn't who we are and you know it.

Some perspective on the threat that Americans face from Muslims in the US. Maybe Trump should ban something else? pic.twitter.com/4JoxEsUjwQ
