
NACOLM Mourns Deceased Officer: Conducts Posthumous Investiture
The Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) has conducted a posthumous investiture for its officer late Captain Godfrey Terkura Ormaga, who was recently promoted to the rank of Major in the Nigerian Army but sadly died on 11 December 2025 due to illness.
The Commandant of the College Major General Adewale Collins Adetoba, who had earlier declared 3 days of mourning to honour the late officer, described him as a dedicated officer who served the College and the Nigerian Army meritoriously until his unfortunate demise. He discloed that the investiture was a unique and symbolic ceremony organized to honour the promotion of the officer even in death for his dedicated service to the Nigerian Army and the nation in general.
The solemn ceremony took place on 22 December 2025 in the Commandant’s Conference Room at the Headquarters of the NACOLM in Ojo Lagos. The deceased wife, Mrs Scholastica Ormaga, his son Master Kitzito Ormaga, and his sister Hembadoon Ormaga were in attendance, as well as Directors, Commanding Officers, Heads of Departments, and personnel of the College.
The Commandant officially presented the condolence letter to the deceased son Master Kitzito Ormaga and condole the family for the sad incident. Major General Adetoba had earlier paid a condolence visit to the deceased family at home prior to the investiture ceremony.
He assured the family of the College’s support in organising the burial and also reassured them of the Nigerian Army’s commitment in ensuring that the deceased benefits are timely paid to the family. He also assured them that the children will receive the necessary educational support and other benefits as contained in the Armed Forces of Nigeria extent laws.
Late Major GT Ormaga started his military career in 1995 as a member of the 40th Regular Recruit Intake. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and was later granted Executive Commission to the rank of Lieutenant in 2017 and posted to the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police. The late officer attended all courses commensurate to his rank, some of which include the Military Police Investigators course and Logistics Staff Course.
He also took part in several military operations within and outside the country, amongst which were Operation HADIN KAI, Operation DELTA SAFE as well as United Nations Mission in Liberia and Darfur.
The ceremony ended with a solemn observance of a minute silence in honour of the deceased senior officer and group photographs with the family.
