
NAOWA 401 SF Brigade, Treat Officers To Independence Anniversary Tea Break
In the spirit of commemoration of 65 years of existence of Nigeria’s nationhood, the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), 401 Special Forces Brigade Chapter, treated officers of the Brigade and Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) to a tea break at the Joint Officers’ Mess, Joe Akaahan Cantonment, Makurdi, Benue State, today 1 October 2025.
The event was organized by NAOWA to appreciate officers for their uncommon service to fatherland. While, making her remarks, the Acting Coordinator, NAOWA 401 Special Forces Brigade Chapter, Mrs Chinwe Wende expressed delight at the occasion and emphasized the importance of unity, love, and continuous support for gallant officers as they remain committed to discharging their constitutional responsibilities for safety and security.
Relatedly, the President Mess Committee (PMC), Col FMO Abioye commended NAOWA for the thoughtful gesture, noting that such occasions strengthen the bond of togetherness within the military community.
The Force Commander, OPWS Maj Gen MK Gara, and the Grand Patron of the Mess, Col KO Bukoye who were both represented, expressed their sincere appreciation and commended NAOWA for its resilience and thoughtful initiative in hosting officers to mark the Independence Anniversary.
The wife of the Commanding Officer, 72 Special Forces Battalion Mrs Deborah R Agwom, while delivering the vote of thanks, appreciated the officers for their service to the nation and reaffirmed NAOWA’s commitment to providing support that enables them to discharge their constitutional responsibilities effectively.
