On Tuesday, 2 December 2025, the Commander Naval Base Abuja, Cdre OE Oladipo, led a Medical Rhapsody and Educational Outreach to Gudi community in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The initiative, conducted in line with the Chief of the Naval Staff’s strategy on health awareness and civil–military cooperation, attracted pupils, community members, and dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, represented by the Chairman of SUBEB, Kashim A. Kashim, as well as representatives of the Gudi Emirate Council and the State Ministry of Education.

Held at Pilot Science Primary School, the outreach served as a non-kinetic engagement aimed at deepening the Navy’s relationship with the host community. Commodore Oladipo noted that the exercise forms part of the Navy’s holistic approach to national security by promoting health, education, and community empowerment. He explained that the programme targeted untreated cases of hypertension, diabetes, and other common ailments, while offering free medical services, health enlightenment, and referrals for specialised care where needed.

The event was projected to benefit over 500 residents and received overwhelming appreciation from the community. The representative of the State Government commended the Nigerian Navy for the timely and impactful intervention, describing it as a boost to healthcare delivery, educational development, and overall social welfare in Nasarawa State. The outreach reaffirmed the Navy’s commitment to advancing human security and enhancing the wellbeing of local populations.
