
Naval Commandants Visit 6 Division, Solicits Continued Support
The Commandant, Nigerian Naval College (NNC), Ebubu–Eleme, Rear Admiral Johnson Adekunle Adewoyin, and his counterpart at the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS), Rear Admiral Abdurahman Mohammed, separately visited the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, at Headquarters 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt Barracks.
The newly appointed Commandants stated that their visits were in fulfilment of a long-standing military tradition that requires commanders to visit formations and units within their Areas of Responsibility upon assumption of command. They explained that the visits were primarily aimed at fostering a cordial working relationship with the Division and to solicit the GOC’s support in their respective commands.
While welcoming them to 6 Division, Major General Emekah congratulated the Commandants on their appointments, noting that leadership of military training institutions offered a unique opportunity to positively influence the careers and professional development of officers and men.
The GOC encouraged them to add value to the system through effective leadership and quality training, while assuring them of the Division’s continued support and cooperation in training and operations.
