In a gesture that underscores the vital role of families in maintaining the stability of military operations, Major General Folusho Oyinlola, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), has extended his commendation to the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives’ Association (NAOWA) for their unwavering support and dedication in ensuring a safe and supportive home front. The commendation took place during a recent courtesy visit by the NAOWA 3 Division chapter to the GOC’s office at Maxwell Khobe Cantonment in Jos.

During the visit, Major General Oyinlola acknowledged the mental strength and resilience demonstrated by the wives of military personnel, emphasizing the challenges they endure while their spouses serve the nation. “The history of NAOWA’s 3 Division Chapter is one of profound value and unwavering philanthropic service,” he remarked, highlighting the significant impact that NAOWA has on the lives of soldiers’ families and the widows of fallen heroes. “Indeed, you are far more than just our partners at home; you are our partners in progress,” he added.

The GOC expressed deep appreciation for the various welfare schemes initiated by NAOWA, which aim to improve the lives of the barracks community. He stated, “The numerous initiatives you have rolled out not only enrich the community but also ensure that support and opportunities are provided where they are needed the most.” His comments reflect a broader recognition of the essential role of family support systems in enhancing the effectiveness of military personnel on active duty.

Dr. (Mrs.) Temitope Oyinlola, the Chairperson of NAOWA 3 Division Chapter, echoed the sentiments of the GOC, congratulating him on his new appointment while wishing him success in his tenure. She expressed gratitude for the partnership forged between NAOWA and the military, aligning their efforts with the broader vision of the national NAOWA President, Mrs. Mernan Femi Oluyede, which focuses on “enhancing humanity through a steadfast commitment to unity, service, and the preservation of enduring legacies.”
