NDA Short Service Course 31 Reunites After 23 Years, Reaffirms Unwavering Loyalty To Nigeria

Members of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Short Service Combatant Course 31, commissioned on 2 July 2002, have reconvened for the first time since their commission 23 years ago, in a historic reunion aimed at strengthening their esprit de corps and reaffirming their loyalty to the Nigerian nation.

Over more than two decades of active service, these officers have been at the forefront of counterinsurgency operations and other internal security operations engagements across the country. In the course of these national assignments, several of their course mates paid the supreme price in the line of duty, an honour anchored in the oath each officer swore at commissioning to defend Nigeria at all costs.

With the country currently contending with banditry and other security threats, the reunion provided a timely opportunity to re-energize their collective resolve, reinforce professional camaraderie and strengthen their dedication to national service.

The event featured lectures delivered by retired senior military officers, who urged the course members still serving to remain professional, disciplined, loyal and unwavering in their commitment to the Nigerian Army and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. They also charged the officers to continue upholding the noble values of courage, selfless service and patriotism for which the Nigerian military is renowned.

The programme also features prayers for fallen colleaques, family members and the nation.
