New Era Of Leadership Begins At Nigerian Army College Of Environmental Science and Technology As Colonel Bamiteko Assumes Duty

The Nigerian Army College of Environmental Science and Technology (NACEST) today 11 December, 2025, witnessed the beginning of a new era as

Colonel Olalekan Dimeji Bamiteko assumed duty as the 12th Rector of the institution. The handing and taking over ceremony held at NACEST Rector’s office, Makurdi, Benue State, marked a new era of leadership aimed at strengthening the institution’s academic standards and improving staff welfare.

In his address, Col Bamiteko expressed gratitude to the Almighty God and thanked the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu for considering him worthy to serve as the Rector of NACEST. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing students’ and staff well-being, as well as institutional development.

He praised his predecessor, Brigadier General Solomon Inuwa, and assured continuity in leveraging his positive leadership strides to take NACEST to greater heights. He also thanked the Registrar, NACEST, Lieutenant Colonel Umar Idris Ja’afaru for his steadfastness in running the affairs of the institution prior to his assumption of duty. Colonel Bamiteko urged the management staff to eschew unhealthy rivalries, encouraged them to continue to improve academic standards. Until his appointment, he was the Commandant, Command Secondary School, Ipaja Lagos.

The handing and taking ceremony featured the signing of handing and taking note, handing and taking over of Command Flag and group photographs.
