Nicki Minaj Congratulates Cardi B On Record-Breaking Achievement
If you are looking for a Nicki Minaj and Cardi B beef, you are looking at the wrong direction–that’s what the two rappers have just proved.
Last night, Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow moved from no. 2 to no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her the first female rapper to rule without any assistance from other acts since Lauryn Hill’s Doo Wop (That Thing) in 1998.
Following the groundbreaking news, fans all over the world took to social media to send the rapper hearty wishes, and one of those who reached out to her was Nicki Minaj.
“Congratulations to a fellow NEW YAWKA on a RECORD BREAKING achievement. Bardi, this is the only thing that matters!!! Enjoy it,” said the Pinkprint rapper in a tweet many people did not see coming.

And you know why it is so? Folks have been trying so hard to pit Nicki against Cardi, a struggle that started when Remy Ma invited Cardi B to perform at her show at the Pre-BET party, and folks who have issues with Nicki Minaj immediately assumed that Cardi B has joined Remy Ma’s team.
But Cardi B sort of dismissed that speculation, and Nicki Minaj also clarified that she is at peace with the younger artist. Still, folks were not having it.
However, last night, after Cardi beat Nicki and every other contemporary rapper to break a record held only by Lauryn Hill, Nicki Minaj took to her Twitter and later on Cardi’s Instagram to congratulate her.
“Congratulations on your record breaking achievement, Bardi,” Nicki said. Bardi is Cardi’s affectionate moniker.
And Cardi replied her on Twitter, saying, “Thank you!! This means sooo much coming from you!!”
