Nigeria Police Force Commemorates 2025 Customer Service Week, Inaugurates Servicom Committee To Review Police Service Charter
…calls on officers to sustain the award of Most Improved Service Delivery Parastatal
The Nigeria Police Force has joined the global community to commemorate the 2025 Customer Service Week with a special event held at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. The occasion also featured the formal inauguration of the SERVICOM Committee tasked with reviewing the Police Service Charter to further strengthen service delivery within the Force.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, was represented at the event by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Research and Planning, DIG Basil Idegwu. The ceremony was attended by very senior police officers, as well as the Acting National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mr. Gbenga Anthony Oshin, who was represented by Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, Head of Operations, alongside other directing staff of SERVICOM.
In his address, the Inspector-General charged officers to continually uphold the values of responsiveness, transparency, and accountability in policing. He recalled that the Nigeria Police Force was recognized as the Most Improved Service Delivery Parastatal of 2024, stressing that such an achievement must be consolidated through sustained excellence.
The inauguration of the SERVICOM Committee was jointly performed by DIG Basil Idegwu and Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, who, in her remarks, commended the leadership of the IGP for his clear commitment to police reforms and improved service delivery. She urged the Force to remain steadfast in its mission of providing quality services to Nigerians.
In marking this year’s Customer Service Week, celebrated across the world with the theme: Appreciating Service Excellence and Strengthening Customer Engagement, the Nigeria Police Force aligns itself with this global spirit of continuous improvement.
