Nigerian Air Force Building Hearts and Homes In Katsina, More Than Just Bases

At the 213 Forward Operating Base, the Nigerian Air Force commissioned four brand-new projects, but these were more than just brick and mortar. They were built with purpose, with people in mind, and with a deep sense of duty.

For years, airmen and officers stationed in Katsina, working tirelessly to keep Nigeria safe under Operation FASAN YANMA, had to find shelter in scattered hotels due to lack of on-base housing. Today, that changed. Two new accommodation blocks now offer them a safe and dignified place to call home.

And for the first time ever, Christian personnel at the Base now have a dedicated worship centre, a quiet sanctuary for faith, reflection, and spiritual strength.

As the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar stood before these buildings, he didn’t just see new structures. He saw the spirit of a Service that cares deeply for its own. He saw the vision of a more humane, more resilient force taking shape. “This is how we build a highly motivated force—by putting people first,” he said.

“By renewing infrastructure, and restoring dignity.” These accomplishments were made possible through the unwavering support of the Federal Government, the National Assembly, and especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose Renewed Hope agenda is finding real expression on bases like this across the country.

To the personnel: you deserve this. To the people of Katsina: thank you for standing with us. And to all Nigerians: this is your Air Force — serving, building, and rising with you.
