Nigerian Air Force Rolls Out Major Personnel Welfare Initiatives As Chief Of Air Staff Commissions 160 Ensuite Flats In Lagos
In a bold move to enhance personnel welfare and operational efficiency, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has unveiled a wave of transformative initiatives under the leadership of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar.
The CAS marked a significant milestone with the commissioning of 160 newly remodelled ensuite flats for airmen at Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Lagos. On this occasion, he highlighted key welfare initiatives under his administration. These notable enhancements include a 100% increase in Ration Cash Allowance (RCA) in the 2025 budget, introduction of a new Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy, and distribution of new uniforms and accoutrements to personnel.
Furthermore, the CAS noted improvements to infrastructure and amenities, such as an upgraded electricity subsidy for Sam Ethnan Base and procurement of new medical equipment for the 661 NAF Hospital in Ikeja. Additionally, he mentioned the ongoing execution of over 470 infrastructure projects across the nation, with a substantial investment of over ₦61 billion to date. These initiatives underscore the NAF’s commitment to enhancing personnel welfare and modernizing its facilities.
“Your service and sacrifice remain the cornerstone upon which we build a stronger and more capable Air Force,” – Air Marshal Abubakar.
These initiatives reflect a clear commitment to putting people first—boosting morale, strengthening unit cohesion, and building a professional, combat-ready force.
