Nigerian Air Force To Collaborate With Ministry Of Aviation To Host Nigeria’s First-Ever International Airshow

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is partnering with the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development to host the inaugural Nigeria International Airshow, slated for December 2025. This historic collaboration marks the first time such an event will be held in the country, signalling Nigeria’s growing ambition to showcase its aviation capabilities and stimulate national economic growth through aerospace innovation.

To drive the initiative, both institutions have established a joint planning committee tasked with selecting a suitable venue and engaging critical stakeholders to deliver a world-class event. The decision to form the committee was formalised during a courtesy visit by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, at Headquarters NAF in Abuja on 30 June 2025.

The Nigeria International Civil-Military Airshow is expected to attract leading civil and defence aviation companies from around the world. It will feature cutting-edge aerospace technology, static and dynamic air displays, exhibitions, and high-level forums, creating a vibrant platform for investment, trade, and international cooperation in the aviation sector. This joint effort between the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and the Nigerian Air Force not only demonstrates a shared vision for technological advancement and economic revitalisation, but also reaffirms Nigeria’s commitment to becoming a strategic hub for aerospace development in Africa.
