Nigerian Army Gives Free Medical Services To Bauchi Community Ravaged By Kidnappers

The Nigerian Army headquarters Division 3 Jos, headed by Major General Peter Dauke, has carried out a one-day free medical treatment in Burra town and environs, in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Colonel Kayode Ogunsaya, Deputy Director Army Public Relations, said the medical outreach was continuation of series of activities lined up for a successful conduct of ‘Operation Harbin Kunama II (scorpion bite) and would be carried out in all the brigades in Adamawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau, Taraba, Yobe, under the Division.
Speaking with journalists yesterday at Burra General Hospital during the exercise, Lieutenant Colonel Paul Egbu, who is the Acting Commander, 3 Division Medical Services Hospital, Jos, said the medical outreach included blood pressure check, dental check-up/treatment, sugar test, eyes test, malaria parasite test, treatment for diabetes, typhoid fever, hypertension and other known ailments.
Egbu, who expressed appreciation that hundreds of the locals turned up for the outreach, gave assurance that the headquarters 3 Division will continue its constitutional roles of providing adequate aid to the civil populace in its general area of operations at all times.
In his remark, the Commander, 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Abraham Dusu, said the medical outreach was an indication that the army had defeated insurgents, kidnappers and other criminal elements that used Burra forest for their operations thereby terrorising the residents.
