Nigerian Army Honours Officers For Outstanding Excellence In 2025 Promotion Examinations
The Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), on Friday, 31 October 2025 held a prestigious Merit Award Ceremony to recognize and reward officers who demonstrated exceptional performance in the promotion examinations conducted by Nigerian Army for the Year 2025. The event took place at the Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja Multi-Purpose Hall, Minna Military Cantonment, Niger State.
The ceremony, attended by senior military officials, families, and invited guests, was a celebration of discipline, academic excellence, and professional commitment in the Nigerian Army.
Representing the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM, was the Deputy Chief of Training, (Army), Training and Exercises, Army Headquarters Department of Training, Major General Ifeanyi Otu. In his remarks, he congratulated the awardees and urged them to consolidate on their achievements, maintain momentum, and continue to uphold the values of the Nigerian Army.
“This ceremony is not just a recognition of hard work it is a call to greater responsibility, You must remain solid in character and performance, always prioritizing the interest of the Nigerian Army”, the COAS stated.
Lieutenant General Shaibu further, expressed appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his strategic guidance and unwavering support to the military.
Delivering the welcome address, the representative of the Commander, TRADOC NA, who is also the Chief of Training, TRADOC NA, Major General Peter Okoye, congratulated the awardees for their outstanding results in the 2025 examinations. He emphasized that the event was a reflection of TRADOC NA’s commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, discipline, and merit-based advancement in the Nigerian Army.
“Today’s ceremony is a testament to the value we place on hard work and professionalism. It is our hope that this recognition will inspire others to strive for excellence”, Commander, TRADOC NA remarked.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Captain Hakeem Suleiman delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of TRADOC NA in organizing the memorable event. He pledged that the awardees would remain steadfast in their duties and continue to uphold the highest standards of military professionalism.
“We are deeply honored and grateful for this recognition. We will sustain the momentum and continue to serve with pride and integrity”, Captain Suleiman said.
High point of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to the awardees which serves as a motivational platform for junior officers and a reaffirmation of the Nigerian Army’s commitment to merit, excellence, and national service.
