Nigerian Army Neutralises Terrorists, Arrests Suspects, Recovers Weapons In Nationwide Operations

The Nigerian Army has recorded major operational successes across multiple theatres of operations, neutralising two terrorists, securing the arrest of ten armed suspects, and recovering a cache of weapons and ammunition in recent coordinated offensives.

In the North East, troops of 27 Task Force Brigade ambushed terrorists at DUTSEN LIYEL in Yobe State, neutralising one terrorist and seizing an AK-47 rifle. Similarly, troops of 25 Brigade in Borno State recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, and personal items during an ambush against ISWAP terrorists in Damboa. At Darel Jamel in Bama, troops of 151 Task Force Battalion intercepted a terrorist logistics supplier, forcing the enemy to abandon ammunition and other supplies, including 379 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.

In the South-South, troops under Sector 3 Operation DELTA SAFE intercepted ten armed suspects in Rivers State disguised in OSPAC uniforms. A search revealed five pump action rifles, three locally made guns, 17 cartridges, 12 mobile phones, charms, and over ₦1.7 million. The suspects have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police for prosecution. Similarly, troops raided the hideout of notorious cultists at ODIEKE-AKOH in Ahoada East, Rivers State, neutralising two criminals and recovering weapons, phones, and a stolen vehicle.

Meanwhile, in Nasarawa State, troops of 177 Guards Battalion, working with vigilantes and police, rescued three kidnapped victims at Endo Community, following the earlier rescue of five others. Intelligence revealed that two victims managed to escape, with search efforts ongoing to ensure their safety.

The Nigerian Army remains determined to sustain the momentum against terrorists, kidnappers, and other criminal elements, ensuring that there is no safe haven for crime across Nigeria.
