Nigerian Army Ordinance Corps Decorates Senior Officers, Charges Them To Higher Responsibilities

The Corps Commander Nigerian Army Ordnance (CC Ord), Maj Gen AG Ibrahim, has charged newly promoted senior officers to remain steadfast, focused and committed to the higher responsibilities that accompany their new ranks. He gave the charge during the decoration ceremony of three senior officers of the Corps, held at the Nigerian Army Ordnance Officers’ Mess, Yaba, on Monday, 8 December 2025.

In his remarks, Maj Gen Ibrahim expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for the gift of life and His abundant blessings upon the Corps. He also conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen W Shaibu, for finding the decorated officers worthy of elevation, noting that their promotion is a testament to hard work, diligence and unwavering dedication to duty. He further appreciated all guests, colleagues and family members who supported the officers and graced the occasion.

The Corps Commander commended the newly decorated officers for their outstanding performance in previous command and staff appointments, describing them as exemplary leaders and dependable mentors within the Nigerian Army. “These officers have been tried, tested and proven. Their leadership qualities speak for them, and they remain personalities we can confidently look up to,” he said.

Maj Gen Ibrahim urged the officers to remain committed to excellence and continue contributing meaningfully to the growth of the Nigerian Army. He emphasized that the future of the Ordnance Corps and indeed the Army rests significantly on the quality of leadership provided by its senior officers. He encouraged them to uphold the values of loyalty, discipline and professionalism while striving to make the Corps and the Nigerian Army proud.

Highlights of the ceremony were the decoration of the newly promoted senior officers in person of Brig Gen T Ahmed, Col CD Shogaolu and Col DO Ogidi with their new badges of rank and group photograph session.
