
Nigerian Army Reaffirms Commitment to Synergy as 3 Brigade Hosts NSCDC, Customs Commandant in Kano
The Commander, 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ahmed Tukur, has reiterated the Army’s unwavering commitment to inter-agency collaboration in sustaining peace and security across Kano State.
Brigadier General Tukur gave the assurance on Friday 17 October 2025, when he received the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, Mr. Bala Bawa Bodinga, and the Commandant of the Nigerian Customs Training College, Deputy Comptroller Umar Atiku, during courtesy visits to the Brigade Headquarters in Kano.
He emphasized that synergy among security agencies remained essential for effective intelligence sharing, coordination, and rapid response to emerging threats within the state.
“It is my pleasure to receive the Commandant of the NSCDC and his team today. I am glad that you have hit the ground running by quickly establishing contact with security agencies in the state, thereby sustaining the tradition of high synergy amongst the agencies,”
The Brigade Commander assured that the Nigerian Army would continue to maintain a high level of operational tempo to ensure that Kano remains peaceful and conducive for residents and businesses to thrive.
He assured the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Commandant of the Nigerian Customs Training College of the Brigade’s commitment to render necessary support to their institutions whenever the need arises.
In his remarks, the Commandant NSCDC, Mr Bodinga, expressed appreciation to the Brigade for the warm reception and pledged continued cooperation in addressing contemporary security challenges.
“We deeply appreciate the honour and support extended to us. We look forward to building stronger cooperation, opportunities, and collaboration with the Nigerian Army in the collective pursuit of peace and security.
Similarly, the Commandant of the Nigerian Customs Training College, Deputy Comptroller Umar Atiku, underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration in promoting national security and capacity building.
He stated that the College has keyed into the Comptroller-General’s policy thrust, which focuses on “consolidation, collaboration, and innovation” to enhance effectiveness of the Nigerian Custom.
He noted that the visit was also aimed at strengthening institutional relations between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Customs Service in Kano.
The visit concluded with renewed assurances of continued partnership among the agencies to enhance peace, stability, and operational effectiveness in the state.
