
Nigerian Army Strengthens Institutional Ties As Corps Commander Engineer Visits Nigerian Army School Of Military Police
The Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Military Police (NASMP), Brigadier General Onalo Yakubu, on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, hosted the Commander Corps of Engineers, Major General Shamsudeen Shafaru, on an operational and familiarization visit.
The visit was aimed at boosting professional collaboration between the Corps of Engineers and the Nigerian Army School of Military Police, as well as reinforcing existing institutional partnerships.
During an engagement with senior officers and officers, Major General Shafaru reiterated the longstanding collaboration among the Nigerian Army School of Military Police, the Nigerian Army School of Legal Services (NASLS), and 11 Field Engineer Regiment. He emphasized the need for continuous improvement of facilities within the barracks and expressed appreciation to the Commandant NASMP for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Yakubu thanked the Commander Corps of Engineers for finding time, despite his tight schedule, to visit the School. He also wished him a successful and impactful tenure as Commander Corps of Engineers.
Present during the visit were the Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Legal Services, Colonel Daniel Ehicheoya; the Deputy Commandant NASMP, Brigadier General C. I. Nwoyi; and the Commanding Officer, 11 Field Engineer Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Barnabas Gowok, among other senior officers.
The visit concluded with commissioning of newly renovated 3 blocks of married officers’ quarters(MOQ), the signing of the visitors’ book, an exchange of souvenirs, and group photographs.
