Nigerian Army Troops Neutralize 25 Terrorists, Rescue Seven Kidnapped Victims in Zamfara
Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA have dismantled terrorists’ hideouts in the Fakai area of Shinkafi Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State, neutralizing 25 terrorists and rescuing seven kidnapped victims.
A statement issued on Friday by Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator, Joint Media Centre, Operation Hadarin Daji, said the offensive operation was conducted on Jan. 10 and supported by the Air Component of the operation.
According to Abdullahi, the troops successfully cleared several camps belonging to terrorist kingpins, including Bello Turji and Mallam Ila, in the Fakai axis.
“During the operation, more than 25 terrorists were neutralized, while over 18 others sustained gunshot wounds. The operation delivered a significant setback to the network of these criminal elements,” he said.
He added that seven kidnapped victims escaped from the terrorists’ camps during the operation and were rescued by the troops.
He said that the are committed to pursuing and neutralizing all terrorist elements in the region, urging those involved in criminal activities to surrender unconditionally.
“We warn all terrorist kingpins and their associates to surrender and renounce violence unconditionally. Our troops remain committed to eradicating these threats and restoring peace and security to the affected communities,” Abdullahi said.
The operation is part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and secure communities across the northwest region.
The military called on the public to continue supporting security operations through information sharing, assuring that all efforts would be made to safeguard lives and property.
