Assistant Comptroller of Customs Sanusi Tasiu Saulawa, PhD, of the Nigeria Customs Service, presented a paper at the recently concluded Africa Border Security Week held in Durban, South Africa.

The event, hosted from June 19-20 at Aha Gateway Hotel, Durban, South Africa, brought together leading experts, professionals, and enthusiasts from around the world to discuss developments and future trends in border security. Aimed at enhancing border security in Africa through smart technologies, the conference addressed challenges impacting air, land, and maritime borders.

The annual event also featured a diverse lineup of speakers and panelists, including executives from the Border Management Authority of South Africa, Airlines Association of Southern Africa, South African Navy, and immigration authorities from Zimbabwe and Zambia. Dr. Saulawa joined these distinguished experts, offering in-depth insights and practical models for border management.
